School of Rugby Rankings – 22 April 2025

The unbeaten side of Grey College in Bloemfontein takes up pole position in our first schoolboy rankings at First XV level for 2025. The team from the City of Roses’ most impressive victory so far has been a home win against Oakdale Landbou (25–10) of Riversdale.

However, they will be thoroughly tested this coming Saturday when they face Paarl Gimnasium in Bloemfontein. The Gimmies are also unbeaten and currently hold third position in our rankings. This weekend’s clash will therefore have a significant impact on the top of the standings.

Paul Roos Gimnasium of Stellenbosch, who remain unbeaten after four matches, currently occupy second place.

Please note that matches against international opposition are not considered in our rankings. However, these games are still recorded and shown in our results.

This ranking is not official, as there is no formal ranking system at schoolboy level. It is intended simply to spark discussion around school rugby in South Africa. That said, we take our responsibility to report on school rugby very seriously.
